For the elderly, this holiday season is the saving season!

We recently learned that baby boomers like to keep their wallets tight. And that doesn’t change during holiday shopping: When you look at the data, it appears that boomers have two main rules during the holiday shopping season:

  • A product has to be discounted.
  • The shopping process should be convenient.

Better prices and promotions are prime factors for holiday shopping for almost ¾ of all baby boomers. That’s 10% more than millennials, and 35% more than Zoomers.

Convenience comes next.

And while “convenience” isn’t clearly defined, there’s a good chance it includes how easy and straightforward the shopping process is—so create a seamless shopping experience for boomers.

… Maybe even one that doesn’t require as many upsells, cross-sells, or additional steps.

Also, quality is not imperative for baby boomers.

So over the holidays, you might want to force savings and promote special, discounted offers… preferably on products that are super easy to buy.
